Reece McAllister interview from Tankō Main Event 14th May 2016
This guy needs no introduction in the world of Muay Thai. He is probably one of the best known fighters the UK has produced. At only 23 Reece has been solidifying his place in the history books, fighting some of the biggest names that the sport has to offer and The Tankō Main Event was no different! Reece fought Fabio Pinca for the 67kg ISKA World Title and lost to an absolutely fantastic fighter.
You can see MTBUK’s interview with Fabio here. The fight with Fabio was awesome, as Reece said in the interview he was feeling good in the first three rounds, playing his own game, but let it slep in the 4th and the 5th which let Fabio turn the fight around. “Fabio is no mug!” Reece said when I was asking him about his time in the ring but he has shown everyone in the UK and around the world that he can stand and bang with just about anyone!
I have met Reece a couple of times before but this is the first time I have ever got the chance to interview him.I was keen to get to know about his Top King experience and where he sees the sport going in the coming years. Again, like everyone he was such a nice, down to earth guy who I could have spent all night talking with. I do wish Reece all the best with his two upcoming fights, a K1 venture on the Millennium home show on the 2nd June in Blyth (North East England) and then his fight with Jordan Watson on YOKKAO later on in the year for the 70kg World title!
I hope you enjoy the interview, as soon as Reece’s fight is posted by Tankō I will get it on here for you to see but until then enjoy the video and remember to head over to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to keep up to date with all things MTBUK.
