Liam Harrison vs Charlie Peters – UK No. 1 vs UK No. 2 – The low down on the most exciting domestic fight of this decade!
Liam Harrison vs Charlie Peters. Everyone who is anyone in the UK know who these two gentlemen are. Two of the biggest and most well known names and hardest bastards that UK Muay Thai has had the pleasure of producing. Harrison (Bad Company, Leeds) currently boasts an impressive 14 years at the UK No. 1 spot at 65kg and he has said that it is only fair for him to put his number one spot up to the number two.
Harrison has already had quite an active start to the year, fighting in February on the Tankō Muay Thai League, in March on YOKKAO defending his world title. He was set to fight again between now at the Peters fight but it looks like that won’t be going ahead now.
Peters, hailing from Double K Gym who recently moved to Bromley in London, has already been in the ring defending his MTGP world title, which will be up for grabs at MTGP 9, against a Greek opponent who he made easy work of. He said that he “was having fun” in the ring earlier this month at MTGP 7. This upcoming fight in the summer though, I can’t imagine will be as much of a walk in the park.
Peters has definitely earned his chance to take on Harrison and earn his place as number one, last year Peters took Thai Fighter’s Male Fighter of the Year 2016, having fought some of the biggest most well known names in Muay Thai, Saenchai, Pinca and Nauzet Trujillo. Pinca has since gone on to become Rajadamnern stadium champion, Saenchai is well… Saenchai and Trujillo has a fantastic KO earlier that year against Reece McAllister.
I am so excited for Liam Harrison vs Charlie Peters and this promotional video that was released during the show at MTGP 7 sent shockwaves through the Muay Thai community as they broadcasted it live on Facebook.
